Hello everyone!
We know it's been a while since we last updated this space, but if you follow us on Instagram, you'll already know we've been much more active there. Still, we wanted to share something here that got us off to a great start to the year: our first watercolor workshop of 2025.
After a long creative pause (that's what we're calling the creative block and lack of time), we started the year with a very special activity: the workshop “Discover the Chinese New Year with Art”, an experience that merged watercolor, culture and community.

A space to learn, paint and connect
This workshop took place in the cozy space of Lift Café in Tegucigalpa. The workshop was inspired by the celebration of the Chinese New Year, one of the most significant holidays in the Asian calendar, and was an opportunity to learn about cultural traditions in a creative way.
We started with an interactive presentation in which we shared how this holiday is celebrated in Taiwan, including customs, meanings and relevance of some colors, curiosities of the lunar calendar and the importance of the Chinese zodiac in the local culture.
Then, thanks to the guidance of guest artist Eduardo Lorenzana ( @dragovanloren ), participants explored basic watercolor techniques and created an artistic postcard inspired by typical Chinese New Year scenes. The idea was that everyone could express their personal style while connecting with a remote but fascinating tradition.
Spring couplets
Another special moment of the workshop was the creation of spring couplets: traditional verses written on red paper symbolizing good wishes for the new year. Each participant wrote and decorated their couplet using rice paper and Chinese ink, an exercise that combined calligraphy, meditation and art.
A space for encounter and gratitude
We are deeply grateful to all the people who trusted in this first workshop and joined us with enthusiasm. Seeing people of different ages and profiles sharing brushes, ideas and smiles reminded us why we created these spaces: to encourage learning, artistic sensitivity and cultural exchange.
These activities require time, logistics and resources, but the active participation of people is what inspires us to continue organizing workshops and events with proposals that combine art, identity and culture.
Will there be more events to come?
Definitely yes! This was just the first of many creative encounters that we hope to hold throughout 2025 (in person and online). If you are interested in discovering and supporting Honduran artistic talent or simply keeping up with our activities, we invite you to follow us on Instagram and Facebook .
Although most of our content is currently in Spanish, one of our goals for this year is to share our stories in English as well. We want more people to get to know the Arte Formosa project, to understand how we promote the growth of the creative industry in Honduras and how we combine that vision with the desire to spread aspects of Taiwanese culture, which has been a constant source of inspiration for us since the beginning.
Thank you for being part of this community, which is growing step by step with love, creativity and many ideas to share.
See you soon!
